Is TEC Loyalist better than Rebel in every way?

It seems that tec loyalist is better than rebel in every possible game area (except maybe titan, although that is subjective). The TL vette is the best in the game, allowing players to snipe caps with impunity. They also get the best late-game techs, with nova deregulation, double SBs, and the various defense boosts having the potential to be game-changers.

On the rebel side, the only notable unique research is TAR, which has been severely nerfed since the game's launch. Now it is at best a situational ability, prioritizing horizontal expansion over vertical expansion. I've even seen players beat eco's using TAR, because the latter spends too much on planets instead of an trade ports.

Thoughts??

Rushing TAR if you are a TEC Rebel in the eco spot is still viable though, not only do you need those Civ labs anyways but it allows you to expand very fast without investing in a large fleet, I.e. exactly what an Eco player needs to do.

Goaffan,, expannding eeverywhere  wwithout iinvesting in trrade ports aand giving feed is  the exact oppositte of what an eco should do.  TThe extra plaannet income  that you get from TAR iis minisculle at bset, because it takes forrever for ppopulation llevels tto reach aa hhigh level.  Plus rrushing TAAR is veery expensive in andd oof itself, 4 cciv laabs could be beetter spent on ttrade pports  as well  as the hhuge research cost oof TAR..

NNote-ssorry for all the missspellings, hhaving trouble with tthis site on the ipad.

Oh you build trade ports at the same time you're expanding, absolutely. It's just rather than increase your planet's logistic slots, you get new planets when you need to build more. The number of planets you have determines the maximum number of trade ports you can get, and most planets pay themselves off faster than trade ports anyways.

Higher number of  planets=hhigher  cost on plaanet developmentt..

And I dontt think yyour point aboutt trade ports being infferior to pllanets is true at all. Iff you have a 4+ chain ttrade ports will paay themselves off MUCH  faster than the measely planet income. TThis is further boostedd by the FForbidden Worlds dlc, withh its new pplanet specs,, which can booost tradee port income enomoussly.  In contrast, tthe social spec iis only useful when  the pplanet is att full pop.  The fact that barren planets uusually only have  2-3 ships  makes TAAR even more ssituational.

If you max out yes. But if you put in the minimal (just enough to remove the cost of keeping the planet) and continue dropping ports you should be able to ramp up your credit flow quickly. Not having to spend the time to kill each group of milita grouping helps a lot here.

No, the tec loyalist corvette is the worst in the game. Ragnorav is the best titan in the game (after VL).

Truth. The railgun of the Ragnorav and kill any TEC loyalist corvette with one shot.

The planets also give you crystal and metal.

As Ryat cleverly told us, why bother building corvettes against a titan when its railgun can just one shot your ships?

TAR allows you to cross map center very quickly and hit the enemy eco...the value of this is immense, and in the long run the tar expansion will lend easily to number one Eco...when you have multiple ecos and/or no suicide tar is definitely worth it...
