Question are you meant to get a back swing attack after missing with a maul attack

Just had a fight with an escaped juggernaut where after missing on the second maul attempt he then got a backswing attack.

I never got to see if he could then continue to maul as a the unit died.

 

Just wondering if this is meant to happen?

I can't say if it works as intended, but I can confirm that if you maul with a backswing weapon you always get a backswing at the end.

I always assumed that this was working as intended, you also see it with the champion Daxus and his amazing Berserker's Axe.

You don't get another attempt at maul afterwards, as Heavenfalls says, it comes at the end, after missing, whether the swing is from the first attack of from maul.

I think it is intentional, because otherwise backswing would be pretty useless...?
