From Manual - is this true?

"Be careful with your Henchmen, however, as while they function like Champions in

many ways, they do die permanently if you lose them."

Is this a change - I know this was the original stated design but in the beta Henchmen simply got injuries like Champions and continued to survive..?

It's a welcome change, if a change it is.

I was wondering if this was true, should be.

So it would be a good idea to train them with default equipment that's pretty good, and don't give them the really good custom stuff until they've got 50 or 70HP or more.  I think when they die you lose all their equipment, so you'll have to be a lot more careful with them.  And you'll definitely need to give them some good starting equipment and lots of bonuses from a high essence city (especially HP, defense). :D  It'll be good when they fix the "no traits for extra levels" bug that exists for Henchmen and Sions when they trained above level 1. =)

Just make them backline Archers/Healers, since the last update and the improvement to designing non-henchman units I mostly use them as a support unit (bow and life magic) to heal and shoot.

A tooled up sov with a couple of melee unts is enough to wade in and keep the enemy away from your vulnerable rear - I find.
