[BUG?] Progenitor issues in 1.03

So, first of all, the weapon info displayed in the infocard seems quite wrong both in relation to what the ship shoots (mostly lasers) and to what the dev exe shows for weapon info. "Weapon:1" has 8 forward shooting banks (and yes there are 8 forward shooting lasers: three at the top of which one is in the nose, two further down, two more further, down and one at the bottom). The two plasma gun ports would have to do amazing damage to keep with those, never mind outdo them on a 2:1 dps ratio as the infocard says.

The second bug seems to be that the Progenitor likes to position itself sideways when engaging a single target, like the Akkan does. But this is very wrong for the Progenitor because only 3 lasers and one plasma can shoot on each side. The problem seems to come from the second half of the weapon debug info which show only 6.3 dps forward and 22.0 to the side. This is clearly wrong and not calculated from the other weapon info.

The amount of weapons points you see are not synonymous with DPS. An example would be a modern Battleship (9 guns) vs a Galleon (about 100 guns).

I'd hate to tell you this, but the weapon points say absolutely nothing about the damage. They are for visual effect only. The side guns do a lot more damage, its not a mistake. So the sideways firing is intended.

Well, it's lame then. Back to playing Sword of the Stars, I guess.

I don't really see the problem of it...And usually I'm to busy making sure all my ships are doing what they should be doing and making sure I'm not losing too many cap ships in the fight(Cruisers etc. I could care less about) to actually watch how many weapons my ships are firing with :o

8+2 guns doing 1/4 damage of (the same kind of) 3+1 guns firing at another angle is totally counter-intuitive. I'm not surprised that Soase has a reputation for high learning curve. This is supposed to be a *video* game not a spreadsheet game: ship turns broadside, *invisible* dps goes from 6.3 to 22.0 according the deeply hidden number that only the dev exe can reveal, while the visible effect indicates the opposite might happen.

So don't think of them as equal in power.

The ones in front are weaker do to the compactness of the front side of the ship then the ones on the side which can have bigger equipment to achieve higher rates of firepower.

Lol sins high learning curve? You should try EVE online than, that game will murder you if you think this learning curve is high...

And you should be busy micromanaging all your ships if you got enough time to watch where weapons come from :P Just look at the pretty effects they make, and don't think to much about it...You shouldn't think too much anyway while playing a game. It's a game...Not realism...

You should play Sins online and rethink that statement of yours...
