How do I install the game off steam?

First time using steam and I just pre order this game. I followed the instructions stardock emailed to me to install steam, after I did that it still says on the steam website I have to pay to download the game.

Open up the Steam application that you installed, and click Game > Activate a Product on STeam. Then paste in the CD key in the email that Stardock sent you.

 

That should let you download it.
