Reveal mines ability broken?

I don't know if this problem is unique to me or not, but when playing the Rebel Advent the Seeker Vessel's reveal mines ability does nothing. Even when I move the ship close enough to a mine to be well within the ability's range and trigger the ability manually it does nothing. I have no idea if the Advent Loyalist or the TEC factions have the same problem with their equivalent ability. Does anyone know a fix for this? Or a way to clear a gravity well of mines that doesn't rely on this ability? Right now my main method of dealing with minefields I can't just go around is to build a big fleet of Seeker Vessels and just suicide them through the mines to clear a path. Unfortunately, this is expensive as balls, and very time consuming. I'd much prefer another way, if anyone knows one.

Personally, I use my titan as a giant mine field bulldozer! It can usually take the abuse without being destroyed. If I don't have a titan yet I try to use capital ships or other sturdy vessels. The other thing to keep in mind, is that the other players (Human or AI) have the same problem with minefields, so don't forget to use that to your advantage.

Your other option is to sit around and wait for an update that fixes the problem.

I ended up using my Titan as a minesweeper as well after losing a majority of the rest of my fleet and suffering severe damage on my other cap ships.

I'm crossing my fingers for a patch today.

Has anyone been able to sense mines in 0.90/Beta 2c?

I still appears to be broken for me (I may be doing it wrong).

I've got the same problem.  Playing as TEC Loyalist with new game started after downloading 2c patch.  The scout has the ability on permanently/passively (as opposed to Diplomacy where the ability seems to have a constant auto-cast on).  The mines will be well within the halo of the mine detection radius, but the infocards still say the mines are invulnerable, etc. and no ships will attempt to destroy them.  I think the mine detection actually worked for me in 2b and 2a, but I could be wrong.

I...managed to take out a couple mines with an Advent seeker in 2b, so far 3 in 2c. Granted my ship was parked pretty close to em but, I have taken out 5 mines.
