Diversity between factions.

I'm sure tons of things have been suggested along these lines but I'm too lazy to go respond to some long lost thread (let's face it there's probably too many suggestions and threads in the Rebellion forum) Lots of good ideas are undoubtedly getting overlooked, anyways I digress. This may be too much of a request to get done now but I think the factions still need to be more diverse. I don't really have any specific suggestions, maybe some folks can post some of their own, but I think there needs to be more faction specific research. There should be some specific faction research in each category tree at least. Even if there was just some more moving around of existing research to reflect the lore of the faction that would be nice (like is the case for the Loyalist Novalith research) This example may actually be bad because Novalith spam was annoying before Rebellion...Another idea would be to give more ranks/levels of applicable research topics to different factions. For example, TEC loyalists could research three levels of armor while Rebels three levels of some weapons. Finally and probably the most extreme suggestion would be that each faction should actually get a whole unique tech tree. Alas this may be too much work and balancing for the time remaining but it would be nice to even further diversify the factions in some ways.

Thanks for reading/considering!

Personally, i think, that TEC Loyalists and Rebels are fairly different, Loyalists being ultra-defensive and Rebels getting their TAR/Pirate/free reinforcements stuff. Especially TAR makes game for Rebels much different to Loyalists. Then, it seems, from the description, much thought was put into Vasari Loyalists, they seem fairly unique and interesting - to my pleasure. I would guess and put money on it, that these subfactions were first to be "invented". Then the others followed. Especially Advent seem to me not really that developed, but maybe its because i am not Advent player/unfamiliar with their stuff.

Here's probably the main thread where its been discussed, with a lot of concrete suggestions (perhaps not all good).

I don't really mind not every research tree having something unique. Clearly the TEC Rebels are going to have stuff in the combat tree at the expensive of the defense tree.

Advent are my favorite, and I think they have a good direction for them. I'll make a thread like the first one for them when they are officially released.
