Titan: change building rates instead of removing the levels.

I realy hate that a destroyed titan will get his old expierence back if he is rebuilded.

But maybe that is a good idea if we change the rebuildtime.

Just every lvl give some extra buildingtime for the new titan. f.e. 1.25 mins per lvl. So a level 5 titan needs +5 mins to rebuild.

So it hurts because the other players have time to hunt your shipyard down.

in that way you have a titan that is capable to fight another lvl 5 titan and it will still hurt if you already get + 150 creds/sec. in late game

I think titans should have their levels rest when killed. Each time it is killed their build time increases as well per destruction.

The problem is if they will be reset Titan lvl, you can gg in most games if you loose your titan or iam wrong ?

You wont kill the opposing Titan that is for exampel 4 lvl above yours, under the current balance in most cases.

but that framework encourages making only sb, nova, caps and titans.

why bother making units if titan just gets back their level. Be damn if it dies. Doesn't cost that much to rebuild.

yes, becuase of that iam voting for making titans weaker specalli there regenerate abbilities might be to strong.

i woud wish they die more easy to regular units , to  negate this titan heavy playstile.

actually the game is forcing you to plan everything around the titans. Iam missing the old ealry till midgame diversity in multiplayer.

like all sayed the are some ways to solve that ..delay titans timing, make them weaker keep timing or let the abbilities be payed with credits.

The last one coud be intressting maybe, the light eco player that gets his titan a bit later could buy more abbility upgrades and win vs. the earlyer titan.

That woud reward the eco player and woud maybe force all player not to rusch titans without getting feeded ? i dont knew

This problem might to relativize on the 5 vs 5 player sized maps, but exist on the other maps with larger distance between hw.

Don't forget that a rebuilt titan may keep it's levels, but the experience still gets reset to 0.

Meaning you still gain advantage when killing an opponent's titan in that yours can level further, while theirs will remain the level it was killed at for a long looong time.

I think this could be achieved, if you have to research those titans abilities via the research screen, though they would be not really a prerequisite to buying titan. I mean you could still rush and construct Titan early game, but it would be just glorified battleship without these abilities. You could add them indeed via research later.

The only problem is the leveling system, how would it level, if it did not have all the abilities from the start. I would suggest perhaps redefine part of the abilities into starbase-like upgrades, which would be bought for money, not leveled via experience.

Who in their right mind builds a Titan, the most expensive and powerful ship in the game, only to have it with crap abilities and gets insta-gibbed by the high power enemy Titan at L6 or higher?  Abilities need to be research based and other items on the Titan level up to reflect the upgrades that come with experience, but such might be too hard to pull off.  Actually, it's not such a bad idea to have the Titan abilities be pre'requisites to building a titan or the idiot Ai might not research them.

I think the titan don't need to be nerf. They just need to be less easy to build (increase the cost of research, increase the cost of the titan, increase the number of stations required for the researchs ...)
