And I thought it was hot a few days ago...
The record temps continue. Looking at the temperature widget (sidebar item in Windows 7 actually) a little bit ago I noticed that even though the sun had set hours ago the outside temps were recorded at 91 degrees (F, not C for those that use those silly metric units). The temps today peaked above 100 (F) and tomorrow isn't looking much better in that area. I went out with my daughter to get food and do a little shopping and after fetching the mail I stopped back by the house to drop it off so it wouldn't sit in the hot car all afternoon. Just the short walk from the car to the door drained me as I could feel the burning heat on my back just in that short walk.
I'm really not a hot weather animal. Not since long ago, the days I wrote about a while back (back when I did the lifeguarding thing and had the advantage of being able to jump into the swimming pool at almost any point I wanted to). I much prefer cooler weather. Even the frustrating Mt. Snow-piles days of this past winter felt nice to me. I didn't much care for being snowed in as the snow removal process was pretty stinky and far too slow by many in the area, but still, it is always easier for me to add layers of clothing to warm up than it is to get cool once I've stripped down to as far as I dare (unless I want to be arrested for obscenity :p)
From what I've seen of the weather forecast it's going to be several more days before things cool down. I still doubt the claims of "climate change" (the new words for "global warming") but I have to admit this is the warmest weather I remember in quite a while.
