Getting Games

Hey all, some of you know me, others know of me, some don't know me at all :).  But this is an issue I have had with this game for far too long.  Many people will not play games against me and my friends because they think we will automatically win.  Well we won't, if you don't know, i have about 300 games and have only won about 57% of them.  But when people join games, they see win percentage and think nothing else matters.  That is not true whatsoever.  Sure it can give a basis as to their skill but if their percentage is low it does not mean they are unskilled or inexperienced, just like if their percentage is high they are skilled or experienced.  It depends also on the number of games played. 

 

For example, if I cared about winning every game and two people came onto my team and I got to choose which one I would want, and my choices were a person with 50 games, but he won 80% of those games, or someone with 500 games, but he only won 30% of them.  I would choose the person with 500 games, because he has obviously played more and will have a better idea of how each of his teammates are playing so that he can synergize with them better.  Sure, he may not have won as many but he has played many more, and has more experience and to me, after a few hundred games played win percentage really will not make much difference.

 

I hope this can help people understand my frustration, I am not simply trying to win every game, but to help people see that win percentage will not make much of a difference as the number of games increases.  I hope I am not chastised for this TOO badly :(.

eh I disagree about the teammate selection.  The guy with 500 games and 30% shows that despite having significant experience, he has still not grasped the concept of the game.  I would expect him to be more oblivious to things than the guy who has 50 games 80%.  That guy seems to have a firm grasp of the game, and is either a very good gamer from a different game.  People who are exceptional at other games tend to be exceptional at similar types of games.  They also could be someone who's played Demigod before, prior to stat resets or on another account.  There is little hope for the 500 games guy to be good, he's proven time and time again that he's not.  Sure the 50 games guy could have been extremely lucky.. but.. it's not likely, and definitely less likely than the 500 games guy :P

I actually agree with that. 

Anyways how have you been warcry, it's been awhile since i've seen you...

Anyways, jump on lagwars vent with us, even if it is just to set up some games, or bring all of your friends.  We'll play with you, against you, some enfos, some all reg, whatever sounds like fun at the time.

lmao but then you miss out on all of the 2+ hour long slow drone rants that he provides.

And he can be quite funny too!

I've found that if i start him on a political rant he won't complain about the game lol :)

i really doubt that your stats get below 45 if you dont suck even if you play every game.

I see your games every once in awhile warcry and dont really mind playing against your premade but I sometimes will quit your lobbies because you dont tend to play with normal settings and cat. I have nothing against you guys playing exile, but I just tend not to enjoy it as much as cat, esp in 3v3s.

Might be a reason others quit when they join your games.  Try playing cat with default settings and see if the amount of games you get changes.
