Is it considered rage quitting if your ally gets disconnected before 3 mins, and you quit?

Game is very laggy, it is close to the 3 minute mark, and one ally has gotten disconnected somehow (normal disconnect, not a rage quit), so you are down a guy, and it is before the 3 minute mark.  You don't want to risk your ally not conceding in time, so you quit.  Is that considered rage quitting?

Some guys insisted it was, but I honestly didn't think so.  I've asked for a general consensus on what is the right way to do this.

I asked them to check my game history to see how many post 3 minute games I have disconnected from.  They didn't want to.  Of course, it is totally up to them, but I am curious if I really did something bad.

Well.

You are the WorstPlayerEver, so it is obviously incorrect and wrong and a bad thing to do.

Also depends on what you take "rage quit" to mean. It could be an rq: you raged at your teammate disconnecting and quit as well. Really, who wants to play out a game with an AI on your side against skilled players?

I honestly don't care about stats, and so I would ask my teammate if he wanted to continue, while conceding. Then I'd play for as long as he felt it was worth his time, unless the game was just retarded bad and I felt like doing something else.

But you have a valid reason to quit, that being that you're essentially playing a 3v2 with them getting fed some extra money. No one wants to do that.

 

tldr; IMO: Not a rage quit.

Wasn't I in that game?  Must have been close to it at least, you were on my team one time and those two were on the other. 

I would say no, you didn't do anything wrong.  If you got mad and quit, that's one thing.  If you lose a player, or the game is so bad off you can't win, just give a "gg" and concede.  If you lost a player, dropping is not frowned upon.  If you're just losing hard core, I just stop fighting and request the other team to end it quickly.
