Seeking info from the online pro's

some questions, mostly about offline play...

So I'll start off by saying I don't post much, though I like to read the posts. Second, I'm a casual player, and I'm in school for computer science and math, so I feel for the developers. Though I have some issues with Demigod, even though I love the game.

 

First I'll start off by saying I bought two copies of this game at like 40$ a piece and on the whole (and 2 more at 20$ for 2 friends to play with us), I feel I got my moneys' worth. But I still seem to have some issues.

 

The first issue I seem to run into is with favor points. I play the game often, at least 10 or so games a week (I enjoy offline even if the AI is easy, I still find it fun), but my fiance does not. We both have busy lives, I work 2 jobs and go to school, she works full time and does school at night. So our time is limited. Because of this, she cannot get a lot of favor points and is constantly gimped in games. She likes the UB for the UB's simple play style (just spit and smack people) but without BoTF (which I use) she's always at a disadvantage. Does anyone know a way around this (ie. someway to disable favor for LAN games or custom internet games) and we don't want favor items off all togather (they help make the game more unuiqe).

 

As it seems this game will not be getting new maps or content like that (even a map editing tool), does anyone know a game like Demigod that has more of these features. I'm just getting bored of the same few maps and same game types, we usually find a combo that works and then have little motive or incentive to change. Also, does anyone know if they are ever going to add teams (I refer to with friends) to the pantheon, the PUG style is rough and often you cannot communicate with the other players in those types of games (so you almost have to use a solo-ish build because its hard to communicate stratagies)?

 

I don't mean to rant or flame, I do love this game (and I will keep playing even if the patch ruins competative play because I play mostly with friends). I must say though I am dissapointed in GPG overall, not just with this game, but with Supreme Commander (which I love and play, often with the fiance/friends/cousin) also. I feel GPG releases games with great idea's and then quickly abandons them for new games. Supreme Commander suffers some of the same issues as Demigod in terms of support (damn GPG net still crashes on my machine running Vista, every time). I do like their games, but their support seems to be continually lacking.

 

So any advice on making the game more enjoyable or easing my fiances complaints (and silly number of deaths, party from not having good favor items) feel free to post. Thanks for any response and have fun :)

simply disable favor items in the game options in the lobby -.-

check out the journals here in the forum to see what content is coming next, but dont expect to much.

Yeah like invisible said just host games with no favor items which you can turn of in the game options in the lobby.  When she has enough favor pts she should def get BoTF best ub item in the game.

That code above will solve all your problems

Go to the game.prefs file in your Demigod folder and open it as a txt file (HOWEVER keep it saved as a PREFS file)
Insert that bit of code wherever the code is:

 Items = {
'AchievementWhateverYouHaveUnlockedSooFar',
},

It should give you unlimited favour points and allow all favour items to be bought.

Best to save a spare copy the game.prefs file before trying this to make sure it works right. Do this for ever account on your Demigod game and they should all have maximum favour

This wouldn't work online would it..? Probobly a dumb question now that I think about it or nobody would have any incentive for achievements. If it does than damn, Demigod I'm afraid is going down the pipes, I love it don't get me wrong but it's already been said in the thread and in many others... Same with Supreme Commander.

i am not sure if you want this for online play or only offline. in the last case golgoth gave oyu a solution. but in the first case you can disable favor items how invisibal said or do several matches online, 1vs1 with your friend, eerytime with demigods havent played online, or didn't won. so you get some of the achievents fast ;) no need to play the match till the end.

open a match online with your friends. select a demigod you have not won online with him. set in the options level 20 to start with. start the game. you imediatly get the level 20 achievement. wait 3 mins and then the other concedes: you have the achievement (maybe both, the loser too).

repeat that with the other demogods and you get every 3 mins a bunch of favor points, from achievements (win and lvl 20) and from the game itself.

in maximal 10mins you have your botfl.
