I actually watched this while I was eating dinner.
Wow, what a great win. This is one of those games that you will want to remember and savor for a long time. Of course, if you were on the losing team you'll want to forget it very very quickly, not that the loss was really Krath's fault. The teams were:
[DT]Star Player, MHIGGY, Alien Crush, Dereklbc, and andWildcat v. _|~Krath, Sunny, _|~Skynet, Cakemix,and Bob33
About 1 hour into it, it looked like the Krath-Sunny team had it won since they'd more or less crushed andWildcat and Dereklbc. Sunny had done a decent job of defending and holding out while being sandwiched by MHIGGY and Alien Crush, so it looked like a W for the Sunny-Krath team.
Finally, MHIGGY and Alien had more or less finished off Sunny, who then said ggs and quit when he still had a significant fleet that he could have used to help his team. Then at some point Cakemix either minidumped or quit. Bob had quit early on when it looked like Dereklbc was going to knock him out before Krath saved him.
Star Player had a Level 6 egg running around Cakemix's backside sucking up his planets; perhaps that's why he left.
Then MHIGGY and Alien Crush beat down Skynet. The game basically became a 2-on-2 at this point with the teams being Star Player and MHIGGY v. Krath and Skynet. Krath had two Level 6 Marzas that scared the beejeezus out of Star Player's team. Cakemix's AI had a fleet but in my book AI doesn't really count as a player but rather an annoyance. In the meantime, Alien Crush was building himself up after having been beaten down by Skynet some and Dereklbc andWildcat had migrated to safe areas and were slowly building.
It became abundantly clear that the game was over when MHIGGY's bomber spam fleet obliterated Krath's two Marzas. However, like sore losers, Krath and Skynet refused to quit, dragging the game on for another 30 minutes.
I can't say that I really blame Krath or Skynet for the loss since Cakemix abandonned them (either by quitting or with a minidump) and since Sunny quit while he still had a small fleet that could have helped. Bob33 is a noob, but his quitting didn't help matters since he could have rebuilt. Certainly at one point in the game, perhaps an hour in, it looked as though the Sunny-Krath team couldn't lose without either gross incompetence or minidumps and early game quits, but the later is what happened. In those regards I was surprised that Star Player's team would want to hang in there, but they did and instead the other team started to bugger out instead.
I'm left wondering what would have happened if Cakemix had stayed in the game. Regardless, it's a great win for the Star Player-MHIGGY team and one that the _:~Suns of Rah boys will want to soon forget.
MHIGGY is one of my favorite guys to have on my team, the guy KNOWS when its over, but he'll refuse to quit kicking butt until he knows its time. I can always count on him when we're back to back, and will always try and meet me half way when Im cut off.
He's always willing to stick it out with you.
How do you play the file? Does it need to go in a particular folder?
what you need to do is save it into your
C:\Documents and Settings\Your User\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Save-MultiPlayer
then you can merely go to your replays in the single player mode of the game adn watch it
for XP
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator Name here (default = Administrator)\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Record-SinglePlayerv
OR
Record-MultiPlayer (just depends on where you load it from)
launch the game
Singleplayer
Watch Game
(find the map where you put the file in)
and dual click the file you just saved
(note that u might want 2 rename the file 2 something you can remeber, as the list can quickly become crowded if u watch alot of replays)
for people that are new 2 all this, some olders are hidden
Showing hidden files can come in handy—for example, say you've tried to delete everything from a floppy disk and the disk properties still indicate 100K of disk space is being used by hidden files.
To see hidden files:
|
1. |
On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options. |
|
2. |
Click the View tab. |
|
3. |
Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders. |
When you have finally found your Application Data folder--just make a shortcut to it and place the shortcut on your desktop (or in an easily accessible Sins folder of some sort). Note that you need to find the Application Data folder if you want to play custom maps, too, since they now go into the Galaxy Forge folder.
The reason I left the game was becasue the frustration of holding a person on both sides, while my partner, you guessed it, left me to die to be honest. I Knew that the game was over from them:
First reason - Skynets Fleet Was Weak
Second reson - no way would skynet hold two of them at once, even with the amount of planets he had.
and Third Reason he didnt take any advice I told him aboout building Phase Inhibtors.....so if he wasent taking advice from what he needed to do to ensure he surivvied.
And the reason I quit with a fleet (First time I have ever did this btw) was the fact that this game was over, due to the fact the skynet was playing sim city, sorry MONOPOLY- just taking the planet behind me and leaving me to die.
This game would have been very different if he had just somehow fought the guy next to me, instead letting me die....
