Let players join games in progress

When a player quits a game or drops due to connection failure, why not simply remove that player and open up the game so someone else can join the game in progress.  Do not replace with AI they do more harm than good.  The incoming player could select their demigod and begin at the avg level of their team.  Give them the gold they would have earned over time (no kills).  If the disconnecting player tries to rejoin, simply have them start where they left off.  I think these games could be popular as many people dislike the first few levels of play.  We still need a conceed option which I think should require a majority vote by the team.  Flame away or expand on the idea; your choice.

Soo. the main complaint about this game has been the problems with connecting to people, and you propose to do this during a game already running.

It was discussed during beta and GPG said there is really no way to do this in the SupCom engine anyway.

 

I could have been nice otherwise

I don't think you should be able to join games in place of other people, but being able to rejoin in a game that YOU were disconnected from would be a nifty feature.

Though it would be preferrable to fix it so that you'd never get dropped.....

They've already mentioned a server/client model hosted by Stardock that would fool Demigod into thinking it's peer-to-peer.  I'm not a networking expert but it seems that would fundamentally change what is and isn't possible.

Would be kinda cool, if your ok with joining a losing game where someone ragequit, kinda like the system diablo3 will have.
