Entrenchment vs Original Sins

When I bought Sins Entrenchment,  it installed as a seperate game and not an add-on to the original Sins. I also noticed they have different installed versions; Original Sins 1.16 and Entrenchement 1.02. Does this mean playing Entrenchment only gives me the add-on mission or is it the complete game (although I haven't notice any differences between them). Should I play only the Entrenchment version and archive the original Sins? This may all sound like noobie stuff, but I was just curious (better confused) on why I had 2 versions of the game on Impulse's MyGames list.....

Sins is different to Entrenchment in some ways. i usually only play Entrenchment, because there are many common features plus the new entrenchment stuff, however, original Sins has different maps, with different people playing online. the AI is also different to entrenchment (different features, ships, research etc) and entrenchment has 3 more unique artifacts. also, im not certain but its possible some number values are different (such as damage values, cost of research or resource income values, but dont quote me on that)
