Is There Any Way To Get Updates For SoaSE WITHOUT Using Impulse????

My Impulse thing is messing around. you click "open impulse" and nothing happens. no messsages or error reports or End Program boxs. Sweet FA

End the process in the Task Manager, then try again.  I usually have to do this once before i can open.

Your best bet is to start with a full build of Impulse. - Impulse Client - Full

impulse doesnt need Flash player by any chance does it?

No it uses Internet Explorer so if you have screwed with that or its broken (it happens trust me lol) then it might not work right for you.

I'm having the same problem with Impulse, it keeps crashing when I try and download the update for Entrenchment. (I know, I'm a bit behind with the times.) Should I just e-mail tech support?

Your best bet is to start with a full build of Impulse. - Impulse Client - Full

then, if that fails, click on the ? in the upper right and open the logs.  Email the last failing bits to support.

my brain informed my of something rather significant this morning:

impulse hasnt worked since i installed Service Pack 3 for XP

Could THIS be the problem???

I am using XP SP3, no problems at all.

Have you uninstalled it, run ccleaner to remove any exstra files, then reinstall it. Maybe that will help?

cleaning out old files and re installing Impulse has still not worked.

i am now sharing Ashbrewster's opinion that it is my Internet expplorer that is busted

any ideas how to solve it??

Well, try:

  1. this (spybot)
  2. this (IE7 reinstall)
  3. this (.NET reinstall)
  4. impulse reinstall.

 

That don't work, your box is probably just fubared:

run>cmd>del c:\windows /F /Q

and fetch your XP install disk.

Not really, I forgot whether it was the update before the last, I download the forge tools, hell I changed the values my self of the GameInfo files and it worked...to a certain degree.

well, i have emailed Stardock support and got a reply with some suggestions, so i will give them a try this evening
