plans to upgrade the AI ??? and an idea or two

Are there any plans to upgrade the AI ? especially those long journeys ignoring immediate goals just to destroy a distant starbase.

 

Also I think the introduction of carriers with fighters would make for interesting play.

Also I did not get much on my suggestion for a mine-laying module or ship to guard space or a planet.

(except that it's being kicked around for GC 3)
