I don't think that's what he ment. I think he is asking how to convert the mod itself from 1.05 to 1.16/1.02, not the game.

I don't know how to do everything, but for textures, I belive that you have to switch the -cl and -da (don't quote me on that, though). Other than that, however, I have no idea.

The fact the thread is in the modding section is the give away me thinks.... ;)

Wow thats pretty old version to convert. I'd be tempted to take a vanilla v1.16/v1.02 installation and rebuild the mod from scratch, copy/pasting what you can... but probably rebuilding the entity/string/manifest/research/ability files from the originals.

I usually don't self-pitch, but https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/343929 gives you some suggestions for a good tool to use, anda sort of walkthrough on using one of them.

I got Beyond Compare a few days ago and you and Ironclad weren't kidding: this is an amazing tool, not just for Sins but for everything, and it makes updating things a snap. It's expensive but highly recommended.

Well it's got the trial and there are ways to reset the trial period as well (namely just wiping registry). But yeah, really any good folder comparison program should make mod conversion a lot easier and faster, Beyond Compare is just one I had experience with so that's the one I did :P
