How is experience gained/calculated?

pantheon seems to rank based on xp but i dont know how it is exactly earned, especially seeing as how the number 1 person has like 1100 and then i'm 300ish and have 1008

is it just kinda there and its not entirely implemented or is there some crazy way to figure it out

I was wondering the same, as seeing some players with over 50 games have just about 100 more exp than myself with 30.  Either somehow I am doing it right and getting lucky, or it just randomly gives exp.

It would be nice to have that conversation.  Without more information all we can say is that experience is calculated.

Maybe.

Experience is calculated based on the ELO rating system.  It is a combination of how well you play in the game, whether you win or lose, and who you are playing against (and how much experience they have).  Whether or not we'll reveal how we calculate the experience is a question that's above me for the moment.  I'll be sure to keep you updated in this topic: http://betaforums.demigodthegame.com/342290

Gunslinger....

I can understand exactly what you are saying, I'm a bit confused though, on how you tell whether you are 'expected' to win.  Let's say I'm playing a Pantheon game, 4v4, and seven of 'em are AI's.  The mix of AI's is pretty important, when the other side has all Assassins and your side has all Generals, for instance.

Are you saying that a Win % can be meaningfully calculated in this scenario? (ps.  I know that SOUNDS sarcastic, but it is not meant to be :)

I do remember somewhere on the board saying that AI's are left in the Pantheon, so that their performance can be evaluated.

Experience does not only deal with win %.  It is supposed to be a calculation of your skill in comparison with others you've played against. Yes, AI's will be in the Pantheon tournaments, but they will have experience too (that will likely be lower than yours), so you will not gain a disproportionate amount of experience if you continuously play against AI.  As far as whether or not generals and assassins play a role in how much experience you get, I don't think it currently takes that into account.
