ETA on the next expansion?

Entrenchment is out and we're loving it. My own quibble is that Starbases tend to not be worth the huge upgrade costs.

Anyway I was wondering what the ETA was for the next expansion, and when would be a good time to get new suggestions in so Ironclad could take a look and start implementing them if they chose to do so.

Just wondering what you mean by that?  What race do you play?  I play TEC and absolutely love the starbase.  I'm kinda a strikecraft fan, so having an extra 8 or 14 squardrons in a system is sweet.  Also the fact that you can put 4 starbases around a sun is awsome.  56 squadrons plus all the weapons on those bases make for a VERY hard nut to crack.  I haven't seen an AI do it yet. 

Anyway, I don't mean to sound like I'm getting worked up here, just curious why you feel the starbases aren't worth the money.

Well all those upgrades are massively expensive to max up, much more than a capital ship. Also realize that each upgrades is unit specific so its not like the universal upgrades from the tech tree. Factor all of that and the fact it cannot move the enemy could easily avoid it until he feels like trying to take it on. 

1 last trick is for carrier spammers, to jump in while outside the range of his SB then release the horde of fighters that can destroy his own SB fighters and bomb it to peices. I've done it multiple times on multiplayer after I defeated his fleet, I just sit back while my bombers do the work. Also the max hangers for the SBs are expensive. Also the max upgrade limit for the SBs are too low. 

The Vasari Starbase is worth it, due to the fact it can move and actively defend the whole system.

I see your points, I just don't totally agree.  A dozen or more squadrons of fighters in the system gives enemy bombers pause.  Also, the TEC starbase has the ability to disrupt phase jumps causing damage to enemy craft when leaving the system.  A very nice thing if your enemy decides to retreat 'cause mopping up is that much easier.

But, hey!  There's no one right way to play the game.  That's what the forums are for.  To see what other players think.

I do agree that the limit of 8 upgrades is a little low, though.

in all honestly, your not going to please everyone, and really, asking the ETA on the next x pac RIGHT after one was released is a little unrealistic as well. as far as if its worth it or not, that really comes into the "multiplayer vs singleplayer" argument.

yes early game starbace upgrades are very expecive to build, but usealy a basic starbase is good enugh by itself early on.  With the tec I usaly build lots of starbases early on and put trade docks on em ,(not the ones on the frontlines though) huge increse in trade income.
