Fleet supply no longer accounts for ships in production?

Is this a bug or intended?  When you put ships into production their cost used to be subtracted from your supply right away, so you always knew where you were at.. Now the points aren't subtracted until the ship is actually built so you dont have any idea if you've even bought more than you can supply.  This was a really recent change I believe.. perhaps in the last two patches?

Dunno about the first thing you said, I still can't figure out how to install the game without errors post-entrenchment beta.

But as for the second thing, it's impossible to purchase more than you can supply.  The only case where you can do so is if you're currently researching supply tech.  (I wonder what happens if you then cancel that supply tech research?)

Just to update , I realized it's not happening at the beginning of the game.  It's something that happens mid game for some reason and I'm not sure what's triggering it.  For instance, I had 177 supply points left, and when I would click on frigates, they wouldn't be subtracted from the 177 until they were finished being built, one at a time.  Once enough were built to deplete my supply points, they stayed queued for production but just werent built until I researched a higher fleet tech.  It's obviously a new bug.

Seems to work fine for me. If a ship is queued back even more than 100 ships, it deduct the queued ship's supply requirement as if the ship already existed.

I've experienced this on this on gateway and some random maps but it doesn't seem to happen all the time and (for me) its ony affected Tec.

I had the same issue, while playing TEC, when building from a starbase with lvl 1 construction. It wouldn't deduct from supply until after the ship was built, and would let me queque up ships WELL beyond the available supply. It would also let me build 1 ship beyond was was available (supply would go into negative, and it wouldn't build any further, even though they were still in queque)

This only effected the one starbase, not others that were developed to lvl2, nor did it effect any frigate factories
