Yeah, I just saw this to.  It says it comes out Feb. 10.  It doesn't mention Kalypso anywhere, but mentions Stardock.  It also doesn't look like the box for UE that Kalypso publishes.  Is this something new?  Will it have Impulse support right out of the box?

Yes, we are now preparing to release a US/Canada GC2 Ultimate retail box. It will not have the issues that the kalypso versions have had since there won't be any localization to deal with.

Yes.  I have been trying to find EU in the US for a few weeks now with no luck.  I can fine UE, but it isn't supported yet.  Now this is perfect.  I just have to wait a month though.  Is the Feb. 10th date correct or is that just something Amazon made up?  Will you be dropping the price of the "Ultimate Bundle Pack" on Impulse to match the boxed version price?  They do include the same thing correct?

Not sure about a price drop on our end, but to be clear the Ultimate Bundle Pack we sell is the same games as the Amazon copy, DL, DA, & TotA

Yeah, I'd like to know more about this as well. I want to buy the complete series, and am trying to decide whether to buy the online pack now for $60, or wait a month and get the boxed pack for $40.

Sins and GC2 where on the main games page for me over the weekend. Again as I said before, someone at Amazon must really love SD now.

I got another pimp from Amazon today. This time pimpin' both Sins and GC2. Frogboy must be greasing the hands now. Of course we all know all frogs are slippery!

O:)

Beric from this site if you click on the price its actually $44.95 when you get ready to order which leaves me with yet another question. If I order it here how can I put it on BOTH of my computers? I would really perfer the hard copy overall but haven't been burned on the few downloads I have done so far. I have the game on pre order but can switch that for another game if I get too anxious over this game.

GalCiv2 Ultimate Edition is also featured in the current GameStop newsletter, which is how I saw it. Unfortunately for GameStop, I always buy from Amazon.com because I have Prime and get free shipping :) It's only $39.99 and I prefer an actual CD with a printed manual.

Is the GalCiv2 Ultimate Edition up-to-date, or will I need to download a patch?

You can, all you need to do is install Impulse and download it the same way on both.

Yeah, I saw that, about a week ago. I of course bought it right away, and love playing it (in between homework sessions, of course). >_>

Just trying to figure out how to build an economy. My military strategy and research is always better than the AI (at lower levels of course), but I can't make 300+ BC per planet like the AI. Even 100 BC is hard.

Holy crap!  I didn't even know until yesterday that a US/Canada version of the UE was even coming out.

I just happened to stop by my local Software Etc. yesterday afternoon, and asked if they knew whether the UE would ever be coming to retail.  Imagine my immense delight & surprise when they told me they would have it the next day!  I reserved a copy immediately, and picked it up this evening.  Oh, happy day!!

Hopefully we'll see good sales on this bundle.

I had a old friend stop by the other day and he was talking about how he wants a game you can really sink your teeth in.  We played games like Star Control, Pirates, Civ and such growing up together so I was pretty stunned when he didn't know of GalCiv2.  After a couple minutes showing him the game he was sold.  He bought the bundle through Impulse that night and I've been bombarded with questions ever since.  The learning curve, even for gamers with experience in TBS games, can be rather brutal at times.

By the by:  Does the UE need the 2.0 update, or is 2.0 already included?

I believe the NA Ultimate box starts off at 1.9.

Well the reason I ask is because according to Impulse, there's no update available for my version.  I wasn't sure if that was right, though.

I got my copy the day it was available from amazon (pre-ordered :D) and it came to me either fully updated or the moment it installed impulse it was fully updated.

Either way I'm rocking the latest TA.

So you should be fine.

Just make sure you go on Amazon and either write a review or rate a review, hell while you're there stop by the Sins page too.
