Installing/modding on Vista?

I told my friend about the game, and how much arse it kicks, and so he was pretty eager to get it. However, after installing the game, it ended up in the wrong directory, in the program files under "kalipso" or something to that effect. This wouldn't really pose much of a problem, except for that there's no "mods" folder in his documents and settings directory to put mods in. In fact, he doesn't even seem to HAVE a documents and settings directory

Can anyone explain what's going on / how he can install mods? I was kinda hoping to play a round or two of Sins Plus with him :D

What does it say if he goes to Options > Mods > Show Mod Path in-game?

I've had this problem too. I just got a machine with Vista 64 bit and there is no documents and settings. When I go to show mod path it says, C:\USERS\OWNER\APPDATA\LOCAL\Ironclad studios\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods. However it doesn't exist. Anyways, any help would be great.

I'm putting my dxdiag on here as well. Not sure if this will help but here it is in all it's glory.

Documents and Settings is for WinXP. The Vista path is correct, if you don't see AppData go to Explorer settings and make sure it's set to show hidden.

Appdata is nowhere to be found. I looked at the properties of the folders and it's not hidden. Any other ideas?

Hey, I actually found it, thanks, it was hidden, I wasn't looking at Explorer properties, I was looking at the folder properties. Thanks you so much!
