Hello everyone,
I am completely new to this forum, but I really enjoy this game. So I thought I would look around on this forum for some custom characters that aren't in the game, and I was surprised that I couldn't find any. Therefore, I thought we should start a Character Exchange, where people could go and download custom created characters. For now, we could just use this forum post. Personally, I would love to see Joe Biden as a character, if anyone has made him. In the meantime, because I love American History and will be going into it, I made a few more historical characters for everyone. Here are John C. Calhoun and Henry Clay.
Calhoun was a senator from South Carolina who ran for President in the election of 1824. He was known especially for his support of states' rights and nullification. Thus, even though he was historically a Democrat, I believe his views more coorrespond with modern-day Southern Republicans, who support tax cuts, decreased federal government, and more state control. Thus, he is a Republican for the 2008 election who is for tax cuts, NAFTA (he was against protective tariffs in the 1800s), and against a strong federal government. He also opposes withdrawing from Iraq because historically he was a War Hawk, supporting the War of 1812 and also a probable supporter of the Mexican American War. Henry Clay was the "Great Compromiser" from the state of Kentucky. One of his most famous programs was the "American System" which promoted nation building in the United States, the building of roads, canals, schools, and railroads. He ran for President many times as a Whig, which primarily supported protective tariffs for US industry and economic development at home. Though Clay was a war hawk during the War of 1812, he opposed the Mexican American War. Because of his support for protective US tariffs and economic development, I made him a Western Democrat who supports More Jobs, opposes Out Sourcing, and opposes NAFTA. Though he is slightly for withdrawing from Iraq, he supports a strong military. Think of Henry Clay as a middle of the road senator who supports domestic progress and is wary of foriegn entanglements (like for instance the Mexican-American War).
