SINS needs a reworking

The solar system design itself needs a total reworking for a SPACE/SCI-FI game.  The maps are unrealistic to the extreme and seem like someone looks at a map of some nation, locates the cities, lakes, mines, farmland and has made a rough translation of that to the screwy solar system design.  This isn't suppose to be an Age of Empires rip-off where we are playing a better island map connected by bridges.

This is a space based game.  This is not... Yahoo Sins Maps...

get a better browser

We are playing in space

See the difference?

This is a universe (battletech)... each star has a full solar system

Yes, I like a touch of realism to my Sci-Fi otherwise it's just something horrid that ends up on Sci-Fi Saturday that makes me run away from the house.

Semaz...so what you are saying is that AFTER the games engine has been done, the game released, 3 patch cycles later, they need to change the game so that it meets YOUR specific needs. Do you see a problem here?

Hi, SemazRalan!

It's called... a game.

Not a movie.

A game. The most important part of which is the interface.

Neat 3D starmaps. Where did you get them?

Mine777, Googled for star maps and star system images. The battletech map I found after googling "Inner Sphere Maps"

Funny thing is from your original post i could tell the kind of ironic response you were going to give.
So anyone that doesn't agree with you is a troll? You're a fuckin idiot.

Now, if you gave an intelligent response, i still would say that sometimes liberties have to be taken to ensure a well-playing game. It would not be fun to have to navigate phase lanes in 3D.

I do agree, though, that stars having more than 10-11 planets orbiting it is just silly, even though such star systems probably exist. In an infinite universe there are infinite possibilities, still i think it would be cool if star systems were replaced with galaxies and planets were replaced by stars that had planets that had resources.

Mine777, still i think it would be cool if star systems were replaced with galaxies and planets were replaced by stars that had planets that had resources.

Wouldn't that pretty much become Civ 4: Final Frontier in real time?(It would be cool but I like it concentrated on Planets)

But for the OP its a game and its called Science Fiction and the idea is Phase Lanes is the way to get to other planets, the only other way is to Stablize Phase space itself with the Vasari.
Yea quit trolling and if you want to voice you opinion make it a "Wouldn't it be cool if..." Don't make it a "It should be this way because I watch Stephen Hawking movies and I said so blah blah blah"
If you want it your way, mod the game quit whining and make your own maps and quit trolling

HI PLEASE DON'T FEED THE TROLLS (or people that you think might be trolling). Just because someone posts their idea of what Sins should be does not make them a troll.

A simple "Sins does not need a reworking" answer is enough.

Actually, I do think sins needs reworking but not to the extent that the OP suggests and for far different reasons.

I think most of us react vehemently to the OP because we have been playing sins long enough to get over the fact that the galaxy has only one size of colonisable planet, only 4 type of colonisable planet exist , only one size of star exist, maps DO look like yahoo road maps etc etc.

I think the second and third map are from "Outpost".
Nice premise, but pretty crappy game.
