"New Player" name. How do you change it?

Dumb question, I know. I didn't have any problem doing this in the demo, but I can't seem to find where I can rename the "New Player" option to a custom name.

Am I missing something simple here? I've checked every option screen I can find.

In the Single Player menu, click Player Setup. You can change name, avatars, and your empire icon/color :)

While we're on the subject, it'd be awesome to see Sins support custom avatars as opposed to having to mod them in. Maybe even custom symbols, too.

Never going to happen, but I can dream, can't I?
