Advent permanent "domination" vs vasari temporary "replicate forces" : (

Advent's rapture lvl 6 ability domination gives permanent control of ships it is used on.

Vasari capship carriers lvl 6 ability lasts only a short time before the extra / new ships created dissapear  (:(

Anyone think this should be amended on the vasari side to be permanent??

For balance number of ships created /  cooldown etc could be adjusted...

thoughts comments appreciated

I'd say it depends on a couple more factors than those you listed: the number of ships that are affected at once, the antimatter cost, the event, and the cooldown.

For example, in single-player and just before you're about to take on an enemy planet, the Vasari can create a couple cruisers and send them in ahead to draw AI fire, and then send in his "real" fleet while the suckers are getting beat up.

Advent = One copy
Vasari = Three copies

And like retro said, antimatter, CD, and situation play a role.

Advent don't get a copy..They get whatever ship ability is used on.

And if vasari get 3 ships the number could just be reduced or costs multiplied by three in exchange for pernamence??

huh?..

Isn't replicate forces like double the cool down of domination, also?

And I thought replicate forces was permanent. I see no reason why it shouldn't be, so that sounds like a bug.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. Thought I might have misread or something. I don't recall ever seeing my replicated ships die, unlike the Anime Storm ability of the Advent carriers where you see a big explosion on its expiry.

I think it is ok as it is now. The only thing that should be changed is the domination auto cast. I really wonder which idiot on the Rapture decided that taking over an enemy trade ship was a good idea...

Besides, you cannot usually compare single abilities of different ships with each other, even if they are similar. You have to look at it from a general balance point of view.

Yeah I don't ever recall seeing my replicated ships disapear but i haven't paid that much attention to it..

It may be that replicated ships don't automatically join fleets or groups once they've been replicated. By the time you get a Vasari carrier to level 6 it's possible that the replicated ships are just getting lost in the crowd.

Also, it's limited by fleet cap too, right?

End of quote

I have no desire to go test it right now, but dominate isn't limited by fleet cap, so why should replicate forces?

Because it's three vessels and not one, and you can do it any time and any where, unlike domination where you can only select from enemies that are within range.

Getting three free heavy cruisers is something that should definitely impact supply.

I've definitely seen replicated forces explode for no reason, just assumed ability timer had expired.
