Allow Faster Speeds in Online Play

I know, many of you enjoy the normal pace of the game and NEVER want to see any speed changes, but I was wondering if there will ever be a 2x or 4x speed option for multiplayer as there is for single player. Even a 1.5x speed would be awesome. The game is great how it is, it's just that sometimes you can't even start a game because of time constraints. Saving the game is an option, but getting everyone online again can be quite the hastle. Are there any plans of an update regarding this in the future?

I would like to see that happen, games can go on way too long...

If there were a faster option in multiplayer, the vast majority of multiplayer games would be played at the faster speed. It'd ruin the pacing and the feel of the game and turn it into yet another RTS clickfest.

No thank you.

This feature already exists. When you make a game, you can set the speed to "Fast."

I believe they are referring to the way you can increase the game speed in single player games using the +/- keys.

I have often found times in multi-player where I would have liked to speed up the game, however, are you implying to change speed on the fly during the game, or set speeds faster as a game option before the game starts?

obviously you cant cant change speed during the game, as other people are playing. i dont think youd be happy if someone else had control of the speed, theres not really a good way to implement this (other then changing setting at the beginning of the game for the entire game).

I think changing it on the fly could possibly create sync problems over the network, causing problems... from a coding point of view it's possible but to get it to work correctly might involve time better spent on the network code itself right now.

Perhaps more endgame condition options would create more ways for the game to end outside of a default slugfest might help, but then we're discussing development time that the dev team themselves have a far clearer picture of what they can accomplish with the resources they have at hand.

If anything I'd like to see slower settings.. much slower... I know this wouldn't be for some people playing MP (time constraints, personal taste) but I like games where there is a point to specializing in something tech wise, instead of knowing you'll be maxed out.

I don't think Sins is the sort of game that was meant to be played at "Ultra Fast" so that you can start and end a typical game in under 10-15 minutes, as is the case with most spastic, epilepsy-inducing "He who clicks fastest wins" RTS games. If it were, I would not have purchased it.

I have Warhammer, Company of Heroes, and (soon) Starcraft 2 for that particular little urge. And really, I find them very different (and in many ways, very inferior) to Sins. Even SC2 won't suck up as much of my time as this game.

I suppose Im being a bit selfish since Im very new but I see this happen on in fact every rts I can think of ^^^^ and is probably the reason why I hate them and am loving sins. Just be careful what you wishfor since the game gets conistant 8.9 9.0+ reviews and I think the game company has to be really careful they dont ruin what appears to me thus far to be a really good game and thats something from me since I usually hate strats owing to every man and his dog adopting rush tactics to stat pad and for wins as opposed to playing for enyoment, immersion and a distant sense of conquering/war realism
