okay, unable to update TA to Feb 19 beta

well, I did manage to update DA to today's version, but today's beta of TA fails (twice). i am using SDC as admin (vista, but right clicking and running as admin). it has worked like this before. the sdc goes into some phase of waiting for 3 secs at a time but never gets past that. perhaps something about beta being unavailable (although it shows on the sdc update list and queues up).<BR><BR>finished by first DA game on a gigantic galaxy today. Makuran won with 12000 points, only appearance by Dread Lords was when I invaded their planet, despite only enabling conquest I won with influence then went back and reloaded the last turn and took the last couple planets so I could have a conquest victory.<BR><BR>it was set to 'tough' (on the high scores screen) but it was way too easy this time as none of the AI's ever killed anything, literally I was the only to destroy an enemy ship except the Thalans destroyed some of my very early (particle beam era) small ships when they were attacking a Thalan starbase.<BR><BR>but now I have a reference save game where I researched and designed everything I wanted and built a good balance of improvements. learned a lot about stuff in the late game this way. (will all be out window for TA)

I'm having the same problem. The error file states that the beta is not available.

Same problem here, also with Vista. Running as an admin account.

Any suggestions?

I e-mailed support but still haven't heard back.

Just keep getting the beta version not available error.

I finally downloaded it today.

The download took all of about 20 seconds and there is no noticible difference other than start up now shows ver 1.80g.

There was also a short update to Galciv II which makes me think that this was nothing more than minor housekeeping.

The biggest curiousity is the silence of the devs on the update and the problems associated with it

2/20 08:45 EST. I'm having a similar issue using XP. The "waiting" starts, then I get an "Installation Failed" error.
