Can we be honorable warriors in Sins.......

......if the only way to conquer a planet is by genocide. I know, I know, its only a game, but am I the only one who doesn't like bombarding the entire surface of a planet with nuclear weaponry? The concept of nuking a planet's entire civilian population makes me a little uneasy, even if its just a game. How about a forced evacuation or some kind of surrender if you coordinate a successful siege for a certain length of time? Is there no other option except planetary extinction? If there is anything I would ask of a future release it would be the ability to wage war with some code of honor. (OK, I'll get off my soap box now, lol)

I propose the opposite! How come i bring a planet to 0 health but kill less than 1/2 of the population?

I want the option to surgical missle strike every single living soul on each and every planet, and efficiently too.

why didn't they implement planetary destruction? i mean planet goes kaboom... debris everywhere... blackhole... whatever... lol

Maybe Ironclad can put a Death Star in the Rxpansion Pack. You blow up a planet and make it an uncolonisable field of space junk.

This could actually add more depth to the game.
Say you destroy all structures in the planets gravity well, a new icon on the enemy planet pops up, 'negotiate surrender'.

The amount of firepower in your fleet that can destroy their planet makes the negotation go faster. Also money can make it go faster too, but not past a certain point.
Annihilation should be a much faster route, but negotiation could result in a higher profit over time by starting you off with higher population, culture, and planet upgrades.
There would be some math that would need to be done, but I like this idea. Its not just roleplay, but also more strategic depth.

I think a few more options would be great, and really add to the 4X depth. From a game design perspective, though, you'd need to make sure you didn't add something that would require micromanagement.
