I cant see the phase lanes to other stars. How do you use worm holes?

Im playing as a TEC civ and I have a trade, ship and planet sight pacts with another civ. I can see my trade ships traveing to other stars but I cant see the phase lane to access it. Ive also researched worm hole trave yet cant seem to use it. what is the secret to getting to other stars?

There's a long range jumps tech that lets you go between stars, simply order a ship to the other star once you have the tech.
