No More Pirates You Say?

OK, I'm sure many have just done this on there own, but since it took about 30 minutes to find them all I wanted to post them for others to enjoy (if they so choose). They are not up yet (see message quoted above) but hopefully they will be in the future (probably with a million others) and that is all the custom scenarios that came with the game have had the pirate bases replaced with AsteroidSpaceJunk. Keep in mind this will eliminate some of the gameplay elements (no pirate bidding, no Cap Ship experience for winning pirate battles, no booty for defeating pirates and taking over their base, etc.) But since many people don't like the pirates its just another option to add to your Galaxy folder.

Keep in mind I took out pirate bases but there may still be an off chance that you get pirates if the Random or RandomSpecial planets generate pirate bases as well. At any rate there will be a much lower occurrence of them

There is already a Random No Pirates map pack up by Kyro so I didn't include random ones in it, just all the other custom ones (29 total - which includes a new custom one by me as well.. can you find it? :-)).

Also note the recent update on Sins v1.02 by Frogboy. They will be making some changes to Pirates if you want to keep them in your galaxies.

Nah, pirate bases don't show up in anything random :)

Another solution posted in the other thread on pirates is to increase the delay on pirate raids to such a large number that the pirates never raid or raid only once.

This would allow you to keep the pirate base in the galaxy and earn the bonus for destroying it, while eliminating the need to deal with pirates every 12 minutes and the fact that the game forces you to treat the pirates as a fourth faction (and a more potent opponent than the normal AI levels).

The games I've played with the 100x delay have been much more enjoyable. I'm obviously not a game designer, so I'm not sure what the hidden effects are, but at least I don't quit every game after 12 minutes when the pirates start showing up.

The map pack is appreciated, but they need to add the option to turn the pirates off on random maps.
