I wonder if the stardock/ironclad team got some things (patch, extension...) ready to be lauched in the coming weeks?
Can we expect like for galcivII lots of improvements in the future? New races? More maps? New ships for the existing races....

There will be updates. There will not be new races added (that's a major undertaking), but you should expect to see more maps, AI improvements, features, etc.
