[resolved] Digital Download Purchased failed!

I paid for the digital download with my Paypal account and I confirmed that the money was taken from my Paypal account and that it went to Stardock. After clicking to confirm the purchase, Paypal said the order was complete... then several seconds later I was told, by the Stardock store, that the order could not be completed.

Remember, the money was taken from my Paypal account, so it's not an issue of funds availability. The fact is that their site took my money but failed to give me what I was promised.

I'm sure Stardock will correct this TOMORROW (or later) but the ONLY reason I bought it tonight is so I could start downloading it tonight and play it tonight or in the morning without having to leave the house.

I have asked for a refund if I haven't been able to download the game by the time they get my email.

We shall see...

Same thing happened to me, only I was using a Visa gift card. The money was removed from my gift card and yet Stardock doesn't recognize that the transaction took place. Sins is actually still in my cart in the Stardock store. I was hoping to be able to play tonight but I would expect it'll be fixed tomorrow.

i used visa to preorder (had only 50$ on it) cash was blocked (45$) and then when finaly my turn came after waiting 8h in fron of computer on a relese day i got email that it failed

after checking things out why it failed its becose stardock auth your card by blocking FULL amount and then charging out of that blocked cash .

so in reality you should have 90$ on card to buy it.

I had 100 on my debit card for the download+dvd pre-order last week of jan check on the first to see if the money is auth'd which it had been now my account is locked so I can't recieve my final pay check (see no AUS v World thread), then I had some weak excuse as to why it failed. Too clarify I used to work in doing EFTs, CEMTEX, SWIFTs wire transfers for a major finance company.

Same thing happened to me. Now waiting for the hold to expire, 3-4 business days later, so not this week knowing banks hold expires friday but the next business day is monday. So now I have to wait another week.

yeah but what when hold expires and ya buy via paypal and it fail again as some people said ealier (another hold on funds lol)

tbh most companies i know when they auth CC they block smalles amout of thier currency like 1$ or so and when it comes to charging there is room for it (if some 1 wana scam stardock they will fail coz there will be no money)

dunno why stardock blocked full ammount :/

If any of you haven't, please contact sales@stardock.com immediately. They will sort out any incorrect charges as quickly as possible.

I have, and its considered bad practise in the banking world to actual have the first auth done and a second auth attempted due to a rescale to other factors. When I was working I had to answer customer and business queries most business aren't aware that creating a second auth and it fails while holding or taking the first auth as well creates liability issues.

How long did you wait for your link xrayz?  Be sure to check your spam filters and junkbox in the meantime.  If you go to Stardock Central you can also get the e-mail sent again (if there were problems).  Tools > Lookup serial number...email it again.  :)
