A couple general game questions

Ok well as I'm playing a couple of things came to me and i figued i'd ask:

this is all DA btw.

1) When i conquor an AI planet sometime i dont steal any techs vn though i know they have some that i don't. Do i need to win by some margin to get a tech or is it a die roll that determines if i shoud get one?

2) When a planet of yours is not building anything, the social production goes right to the ship building production, right? Is that a 1:1 ratio? If so, in the late game when many of my planes are done with all social building, IF I set the social slider to say 50%, the research slider to 50% and the ship one to 0%. Will all planets that have no social projects automatically get the unused production for ship building? What i THINK will happen with those settings is that all planets with social projects will get them built and all planets that have none will get the same production towards their ship yards. Is this true?

ok well i thought i had mor but cant think of them now at work.

1. No particular margin is needed.

2. I believe that excess spending on a planet, such as social when nothing is being built, is then divided between the military and research components of that planet.

1) then why do i not get a stolen tech with each invaded, and conquored world?

2) are you sure? cause i see the arrows pointing from the social points to the starship build points. And what about what i said about having the startship build slider on Zero?

1. I believe it is somewhat random. I have reloaded from a save, and not only do you sometimes fail to get a tech, but also when you do get one, its not always the same tech it was the first time.

2. Ask Drrider or Biztoc (sp), they seem to be the "nuts and bolts of the game" gurus.

All your unused social goes to military, and vice versa. If you use neither the amount you would have spent on military/social points that turn is returned to your treasury.

SO i can set the military slider to zero and still gt ships built if that planet has no social projects in the queue?

Getting techs from conquering is based on how many intact buildings are on the planet. The more buildings you destroy in the invasion, the less likely you are to get a tech from it.

Nope, you need at least a military spending of 1%.
