Its at the top and its mapped to the key m.

It looks like this when you are zooming to the cursor:

On that note, if the zoom-on-cursor would not override the focus camera it'd be much more usable.

Be nice Some people are here for the first time. They suffer from the same "first game of SIN's delirium" we all experienced. Symptoms include missing work/school, talking in one's sleep, lack of appetite, and inability to decipher post titles.

Just downloaded the game... mmmm the sweet addiction can begin in earnest. Figured I'd put my two cents in as I encounter them:

Zoom to cursor: This just feels "wrong" to me. It causes a "wiggle" when zooming in and out to get the perfect range on screen. This would be vastly more controllable if it were like a "right-click+zoom" option so that both zoom abilities existed simultaneously. Am I just overlooking a setting that can work for that or is this not currently designed/planned in such a manner?

Thoughts?

Oh Thrawn, this is like Ron's manual thread, those who really need to use it, never will.

DatonKallandor:

Next patch will make it easier to toggle between them, hopefully this will give you maximum control over what you're looking at.

TokenSDragon:

ZTC recenters the zoom focus position when zooming out. I don't like that zooming in and out loses the focus either; it was originally implemented without this recentering, but for various reasons it ended up being really awkward, so the tradeoff was made.

Fair enough... honestly, I can't say that I could think of a better method anyway, I see how the right-click idea would really screw up folks zooming and rotating around an object simultaneously... so eh, I'll just have to learn the controls better.

As I said to DatonKallandor, it will become easier to toggle modes in the next patch. Hopefully this will allow you to keep the focus on what you want

Yeah, but now we can point them at it and laugh at their stupidity!

The camera seems to work excellent from a distance, but if you zoom in to watch the battles in the heat of the action, it's hard to zoom in when there are lots of ships flying around because the plane is more level and the camera jumps about.

You're right, plus they will probably make some pathetic defense such as "Its my first time playing"

Hey, if they don't check the stickies first, its their own darned fault. (One reason I support stickies is while they don't stop everyone, the people that are smart enough to check get their help fast, and don't have to start threads. Which cuts down, slightly, on the spam)

Rule #1 of forums: nobody reads stickies. Rule #2 of forums: when told to read the stickies, only half of them do.

Hey, I read stickies. I sometimes miss stuff, but I do.
