Wish List: Item 579b, Map

It would be most helpful if when we are greeted with the "Galactic News" items every turn and must decide on new items to build -- that we could see a small mini-map. I'm playing on a Gigantic map now...and when I get over 30 or so planets I start forgetting where they all are on the map. Especially over 50. I would like to know that if "xyz has built and Starport, and is now building Nothing..." just how close to the border of an enemy it is. Or is it in the rear of my Empire where it should be concentrating on some other builds like a "Wonder". Not being able to see where my planets are on the overall map during this phase really hurts.

For that matter...why can't we bring up the Galactic News again at any time during a turn?

Right-clicking on the Galactic News item will zip you over to the planet, and selects it, without actually going into the planet screen. If you'd rather not make a two-step process out of it, though, you could name your planets according to what cluster of stars they're in (one star could have Alpha Alpha and Alpha Beta, and the neighboring star would have Alpha Gamma, for example); that way, you can set it up so you only have to remember a handful of "states" instead of dozens of "cities".

As for bringing up the Galactic News again in mid-turn, there really isn't any point--each item that appears in it has an icon on the right-hand side of the screen that is identical in function.

Ahzi...this is not something that needs 2 or 3 clicks. Just an option to "re-see the GNN" during a single turn so you know you didn't miss something...or can go back to it in case you hit "done" after the first couple -- which happens by accident way to often. Sort of like having "Done" hovering just over the "Turn" button on many screens.

And the Minimap issue? Thanks Hatge for the support on that one. I'm sure most of us that are slogging our way through basically "playtesting" this game are missing that one.

Again--> I think this game has great potential and most of us are just throwing out our ideas hoping most of them stick.

But not being able to bring up the whole "GNN" dialogue from the beginning of a turn seems a bit of an undersight. Especially on larger+ maps.

And Ahzi...while I like your naming scheme for planets...mine is completely different. I like to name my planets after ex-girlfriends. Helps me remember where they are.

So far I have no problem with names in a Gigantic Galaxy~~~

Call me a Dawg, fine --
