Displaying Poll Results

Am I the only one having issues with understanding poll results? What exactly is being displayed by the rainbow graph? Whatever happened to displaying what percentage of votes a certain response received? No, I am not trying to complain. I would just like to more fully understand what the graph displays. Any explanatory information would be quite welcome.

You have a point but based on the total votes you can make an educated guess on the votes. It get more difficult when there are more choices and very few votes for some options.

The detail provided is probably about as good as the validity of an unscientific poll in the first place. If I were guessing at the meaning of the poll on ship jewelry I would predict that maybe 20% of the people that voted yes would eventually buy the $8.95 package and that would be little more than a WAG.
