Game is too short, can we allow the game to continue after winning?

I love the game as much as you guys, but I'm gutted than when winning a gigantic universe that it all has to end, my own little sandbox story stops. I want to continue to research, start wars, finish wars.... I want some bigger maps too me thinks

There just has to be a way to allow us to continue on, is there a mod for larger maps? Dont want the game to go super slow but love it so much want to carry on

If I'm understanding this correctly you haven't noticed the victory conditions check boxes when you start a game.
You can turn off each of the 4 victory conditions on one of the screens when you start a game.

I don't agree that the game is too short, but I do agree with an option to continue the game after the victory conditions are met. I wouldn't use it, but no doubt outhers would.

Yes, sometimes the enemy AI's surrender too quick--after taking over a few planets are taken.

I think you should be given a choice as to whether to accept a surrender or continue the game.
Sometimes you have some new ships coming on line that you want to use.

Last night against the Arceans and Drengins I had to take every planet. They didn't surrender.
I liked that.

I usually just play for a military victory but I notice that despite my care in unchecking it at the
beginning of the game, it still seems that an influence victory is in play--maybe a bug.
I once was mad that I was about to win a game based on influence without the chance to attack the enemy. I then
declared war on one of the AIs and then found out that that negates any possible influence victory.
I was happy about that.

Just set victory conditions to Conquest only. Then you win only when all other races are dead.

Ben you're a star. I sad over sight on my part, but as others have said it would be nice to gain the victory and then have the choice to play on afterwards.

Also agree that some of the, if not all the races surrender their planets over a little to early really.

The problem also, is that I dont really want to kill everyone off, I kinda get a little sucked into the universe (sad I know) and like to live out my own little Startrek type life. Some war, negotiations for peace, alliances made and are then broken. Technology advances etc etc.

Just love the game and want more basically.

Glad about turning the vic conditions off though, that will be a nice new game to play now.

Hi All,

I didn't want to create a new post for what is essentially the same question....

Right I've started a new game and deselected all options for victory, however... I'm then left with the only obvious conclusion for victory which is conquest. Will this encorage the computer AI to act aggressively and generally create genecide all over the universe or is that not the case.
What I mean is that when I want to continue on the game, its in coexistence with the other races to develop tecth and pan the game out more, which I wont be able to do if I have 7 races at my throat cos I've disabled the other ways to win.

Please help
