Don't Feel Bad, I Don't Know Me Either

No Me Conoces

Alright, I never claimed to be a poet. I was just trying to write a counter-point article on Imajinit's psychology post, and everything that came out contradicted itself. (This doesn't mean you've won Michael.) Anywho, I promise I'll never write poetry again, but I dedicate this to anyone who's ever left a comment on my blog. Please don't be harsh, this is like the 2nd (and probably the last) poem I'll ever write.

Take nothing I say as absolute truth
About myself or my position
I'm a person without an identity
A gun with no ammunition

I appreciate your company
You've been so warm and kind
But please don't say you know me yet
I'm impossible to find

It's not that I think you'd reject me
If you found my definition
It's that I don't even know it yet;
I'm afraid I'd hate it with a passion

So if I contradict myself
Just nod your head and smile
I haven't been coherant in
Well...it's been a while

I like it! Don't give up on poetry. I think most people go through a poetry phase in their life. I felt , for a while during my teens, that it was the only way I could express some of the things I was feeling. That phase of your life when you feel noone understands you including yourself. Keep exploring, learning and redefining.

What a brave soul you are! I figured I would comment since you mentioned people weren't stepping up to the plate with your articles lately. I was thinking this morning what a gifted, talented writer you are. My next thought was self-centered as usual, and I was envious of your ability. You know me. I'm just about average at everything, and I only dream of writing such wonderful things. Your poetry was perfect, and I thought your response to Imaginit was respectful, yet honest. Keep writing, and know that when make it to the New York Times bestseller list, I will tell everyone I know your my "wittle" sister!

I agree with Jill, keep writing, that was very nice, I liked it. My poetry phase has lasted for...oh...10 years now I think :) I wish I had all the poems I've written over the years, I've thrown most of them away, must've written hundreds by now :)

Nice to read. Comforting. Refreshing after two days without a night talk and looking sadly forward at yet another.

Much love.

You may be young, my dear, but do the world a favor and become a writer. You have wisdom and insight that few best selling authors have.
