Wow, so glad I found these forums

The last game I played regarding galactic conquest was... hmm, someone help me with a timeline.
I played
Master of Orion
Acendency
Pax Imperia
Some Star Wars game about 5 years ago (which was ok but nothing special)
Imperium Galactica

Of them Master of Orion was my favorite but Imperium Galactica had the best combat of all.
Now I take a LONG break from this type of game because nothing strikes me as any good. Let's just say when I came to this website, I got the game on the 21st

So far so good without problems. Great job devs, and this is one of the best communities I have seen in quite some time.

I've played;

Master of Orion 1 - The original and clearly the 3rd best!
Master of Orion 2 - The dogs b011oc*s in TBS space games AKA the 1st
Master of Orion 3 - Tinted b@st@*d of a child
Space Empires 3 - Amazingly addictive with mods
Space Empires 4 - Close 2nd
Imperium Galactica 1 - Brillant original great fleet battles
Imperium Galactica 2 - Awesome cinematics / story mode / good fleet battles - Close 4th
Imperium Galactica 3 - AKA Nexus
Reach for the Stars - Good story mode / poor gameplay / fleet combat was a joke
Pax Imperia - Interesting approach / diverse combat system / loved the diverse ship techs aka Screens vs Shields
Star Wars Rebellion - interesting approach but ultrimately lacking / conquering planets via political debates? WTF! Send in the stormtroopers!
Galactic Civilizations 1 - Sorry but I found this lacking in some many areas! But good average game.
Star Trek BoTF - You have got to be f**king kidding me................................. oh you are not!
Malkari - LOL what a joke!
SSI Space Combat - Cheap and cheerful hex based BI type game.

I guess I'm a TBS wizard

I always sent in the Dark Troopers actually. As the empire I ignored the political debates and left a garrison.

Rebellion was pretty cool. I liked the way heroes and missions were implemented. Compared to that, Empire at War is a joke.
I played so many other games, but none of them actually created the feeling of a truly "epic" space opera. As GalCiv tries to creat a "realistic" universe (politically), I think that they come closest to that.
