Ok, today, i walked my niece up to her bus stop (they live three blocks up from us), cause it was a late start, that way she was safe. Right? Well, We both see the bus approaching and she says for me to go ahead and head home, i said good bye and started walking the 5 blocks home. Keeping an eye on her as i strolled on down the sidewalk. She waved bye. Nothing seemed unusual... I headed home, assuming, since the bus *was there* that she got on... That was until 12:30 today, when my mother (who had dropped off some fundraising stuff for my niece at the school) asked me if she was here. I replied, "No, she got on the bus..." She said that she asked one of my niece's friends if chelsea had been at school, the child said no. (At that moment, of her telling me, my heart felt like it had literally stopped) We both rushed to her house, to see if she had decided to skip school... (She's never done such, as of recently, but i wouldn't put it past her) Not there. We headed to her school and checked, hearts punding. I felt horrible, in my head i was saying, "F***ing SOB! Why the H$$$ did i not make damn sure she was there!" Images flashed through my head of what could've happened to her. As we came back to the cafeteria, having looked various places...There she is, walking nonchalantly down the hallway. 
I just hugged her, and we explained what we thought had happened to her. She said that she had to go to band, and that the child that was questioned had misunderstood the question. Geez! Those minutes of not knowing where she was, were *the* worst in my life... Oy, and just when i was relaxing...
