Oceanic Worlds and Precursor Worlds?

In my current playthrough I have a lot of oceanic worlds, and one precursor world. I can't colonize them without the proper techs (ie Oceanic Worlds and Precursor Worlds). But I can't seem to find these techs on the tech tree? Do they have to be unlocked? And how? Does anybody know? At 18 turns, and can't figure it out.

oceanic worlds are unlocked through the following path... Space elevators -> Planetology -> Extreme colonization -> Oceanic Worlds

Nope. Thank you for your reply, but nope. I checked all 4 tech trees and all of their branches several times for Oceanic Worlds and Precursor Studies, before opening a topic here. Just checked again, nope. I'm playing v 0.77b with the Terran Resistance. Here is the tree branches I see:

Planetology > Extreme Colonization > Planet Adaption > Planetary Outposts, Environmental Engineering, Precursor Archeology.

Planetary Outposts > Colonial Capital Refit > Megapolis > Secure Confinement.

Precursor Archeology > Artifact Studies > Artifact Mastery.

Environmental Engineering splits into 2 branches, Xeno Conservation and Soil Enhancement.

Xeno Conservation > Atmospheric Scrubbers > Land Preservation > Nano Recyclers.

Soil Enhancement > Adapted Crop Engineering > Biomass Resequencers > Resequencer Stations.

i just started a game as the terran resistance to check, and it does show up for me there. a couple weeks ago they actually took out oceanic worlds for a min though, and you might need to verify your files to make sure you have the current version with oceanic worlds back.

Thanks for your help. I'm not sure how to verify my files. I went to Epic, didn't see an option. Looked in the game files too. Tried a lot of right clicking lol.

Go to Epic Library click 3 dots to the far right of GC4 test

That worked thank you! Only problem is that my 183 turn v0.77b saved game doesn't have them in the tech tree. Shows up with a new start though. I would continue, but there are 8 Class 19+ Oceanic worlds in my sector, a few near my home system. Oh and a Precursor World that's useless. Frustration, a week down the drain, but that's Alpha and Beta testing.

yeah, but you're prob going to have to restart every week or 2 anyway if u want to play the newest version. If you want to play a longer game though, click on the version of the game that just says Galactic Civilizations IV, and doesn't include Test Edition. The non-test edition version is updated less often so that people can play longer games. It just got upgraded to the newest version too so now is actually a great time to start a game on that version.

Thanks, that was the version I was using. I guess I'll use it for my new game.
