Festron Infestation
The problem is real. I don't know how, but one got on Earth. Before I could blink the whole planet was Festron. How do you irradicate the infestation? If you imprison them all, do they still count against your total population?

Oh Crap that sounds bad. Very Bad. Worse than a Xenomorph. As bad as The Thing!
Seriously, I'm wondering what is going on now. I started a new game and now I have Festron infested planets all over the system. I haven't even met the Festron. Is there anything we can do to eliminate this infestation?
Did you get a Festron leader and use it? Mayhap this is the cause? I ask for my information as much as to help solve this prob. If a leader can cause this to happen it should be terminated with extreme prejudice as the saying goes.
It's a mystery to me. I have no idea where they came from. I hadn't even met that civilization yet.
ckHenson, there is a colonization event where you find Festron and if you do not pick the choice which spaces them you will have them in your empire. Because of their ability I do not play with them in my games.
Note : Trade routes WILL bring them in your empire. You are Empire A trading with the Infected Empire C who is NOT Festron but does trade with them. Thus even though you did not meet them you brought them home to hive. Really you should just nuke them from orbit...its the only way to be sure!
Check if the infected planet has any trade route this could be a source.
After all is said, blame the devious Cari as this atrocity it is all hers! (Good job Cari)
Larsenex the idea to check the trade route is good, but in 0.65 they took away the screen where you can see all of your trade routes. Unless I'm looking for it in the wrong place.
in 0.65 the trade route screen shifted to the Policies screen, lower left button, it is annoying and I hope they fix it in the next update.
One of the other kickers is that if you are playing a large game, even if you don't have the Festron as a species in the game, the AI can have one in a planet that you conquer which then infects other planets and makes a mess of the whole game. I went out of my way to avoid putting the bug creatures in my game and I still end up with them.
So if you've been invading systems it may have come from a planet where the AI choose the nightmare scenario for you.
