General Questions about the VGM and the upcoming alpha

So with today being the alpha release date (that's still happening today, right?) I wanted to start listing out some open questions I have, as well as provide a place for others to post questions (and/or answers) that can be consolidated. 

(Obviously, if there's already plans to do this more officially, this post can be deleted :) )

  • What are some of the areas founders should focus on during the Alpha?
    • Any specific things (modes, actions, etc) that we should try to break?
    • Any areas that you want the most feedback on?
    • Are there any known items/issues we should be aware of so you don't receive a million reports on it?
  • Is there a loose release window for "1.0" ? (2019? 2020?)
  • Will there be any games your team has made already available for us to poke at?
  • As we get further along, do you have any plans to run theme weeks/mini game jams? (i.e. Here's a theme/idea, everyone make their own game using that theme/idea, etc)

There will be a few posts coming up very soon, but I can go over these real quick :)

Areas of Feedback: We've disabled the areas of the game that aren't ready for feedback, so anything that is in the current build is fair game. Can you make games that you enjoy and would want to share?  Are there things that work counter-intuitive to what you'd expect. Oh, and bugs...any and all bugs we want to snuff out ASAP.

Oh, and we'll be posting a running change-log of things we've fixed for the next update, so feel free to look through that before posting. Or post anyways - as long as you don't mind a quick "Known issue, we're on it." response :)

Release Window: I don't know how final the schedule is, so this one is a 'No Comment' from me. I'll keep you posted as these things are made official.

Sample Games: There are 3 included sample games and another handful in "The Arcade" (the online library of uploaded content). Should give you a good ideas of some of the possibilities.

Theme Weeks / Mini-Game Jams: Love this idea. Gonna steal it ;) 

This Alpha cycle is all about getting the game to a fun/polished point where it's ready for a wider audience. It still has some pretty rough edges, so getting those smoothed out is our top priority.

Been a long time Stardock fan, I'm a founder of most of your games :)  Saw this and hit me it's a great summer project for me and my 12 year old.  Thanks!  Really looking forward to how this gets even better!
