I discovered an invisible Starbase!

One of my enemies has built an invisible starbase.  I discovered it as I was beginning to close in on his capitol system.  The moment I floated my cursor over it, and saw that I would win the battle, he suddenly surrendered all of his assets to me.

So now I have an invisible starbase.  I'm not quite sure what to do about it.  I wonder if the crew is forever beset with vertigo and stubbed toes from constantly bumping into walls they can't see.

Feature?  Or bug?

screenshot?

persist over a quit/restart?

As an aside https://discord.gg/JN2XH6A is a pretty good platform for sharing/discussing/testing this stuff :)

It persists over a save-exit-startfromsteam-load.  I have not rebooted.

Also, my ships disappear when entering that tile.

How does one post a screenshot in this forum?

I'm finding more invisible starbases now.  I have rebooted since my last post and they still have the invisibility cloak on.  I really think it's a bug.

How can I post my pics here?

When you edit a post there is the tool bar at the top. There is one button there with a "plus" sign and a down arrow to the right of it, when you click on the down arrow a list opens with the second entry being "Image".

But when I tried to insert a screenshot this way it didn't work, perhaps you have more luck ...

Yeah, I really don't want to do that because it requires that I administer yet another thing in my already busy life.

I have the same bug - I play as Alterian, all my starbases are invisible (but the enemy is still able to attack and destroy them).

What to do?

I am playing as the Terran Resistance this time around, and my ships often disappear when they enter a tile that is occupied by asteroids or rally points.

The game doesn't lose track of them, but that's not good enough.  I can't even see my ships as I scroll around the map, which puts me at a disadvantage in the game.

If I was playing MP I would be totally using this feature.

How do you truly know that your ships, though invisible to you, aren't really fully visible to your opponents?  If so, then they're not visible to you as their commander charged with their safety, but all the while they're presenting a fat and juicy target to your enemies' navies.  Hear those booms?  Those are my missiles and mass-drivers hitting the weakest parts of your colony ships and transports.  Casting your colonists and their goats and chickens, as well as your troops and their equipment out into the vacuum of space.

The fact is, the game on YOUR local machine is just that.  Local.  If it's not behaving correctly, then you really have no idea how to play the game, regardless if it's a single player or multiplayer game.
