Wanted: A better way to depict remaining moves for ships

The way that "remaining moves" is depicted is not very useful at all.

When I go to an "idle ship", there's no visual/graphical indicator of how many tiles that ship has left.  To find out, I have to either look at the ship's status (Moves: 8/9) or I have to click on it, then right-click on its destination before I can see how far the ship will be able to go with the moves remaining in this turn.

That's messy and inconvenient.  The way it works now, I have to count hex tiles to be sure I can get where I want to go within this turn.

I would like to see some sort of improved graphical appearance that will show how far the selected ship (or fleet) will be able to go with the moves remaining in this turn.  It could be a double-dashed box, it could be a slight glow added to the map, it could be a "proposed travel line" going from the selected ship to my cursor on the screen, with the turns needed for said selected ship to get wherever my cursor is.  I'm flexible.  I just need something to make gameplay go smoother.

Most of other games that use tile movement allow you to hold right-click to preview your movement. It is odd how GC3 not doing this.

I've complained about this before as well. I'm not sure why GalCiv can't just do what nearly every other game does when it comes to turn based movement. The distance you can cover this turn are often a light green color, and moves beyond this turn are a dark if not greyed out color. It's easy to see because of the visual change in colors. GalCiv does half of this as it shows the green line of the ships move, except it moves the green line like it assumes the ship can still cover that distance.

Yeah, but to get that green line, you have to click, meaning that you have to commit to the movement.  You then immediately lose the number of moves to get from the unit's location to that of the cursor, and just like that, you give up your ability to properly strategize this turn.

Same goes for auto-upgrade toggle option. It still annoy me to this day that the first thing to do with newly colonized planet is to click on the Govern and shut that damn auto-upgrade off.

Agreement here.  Movement counters and the stupid auto-upgrade thing are my biggest annoyances with both standard GC3 and Crusade (especially now that upgrades cost valuable resources).  I don't know how many times I've forgotten to unclick auto-upgrade, until I realize that I'm spending Durantum faster than I can produce it.  I'm sure the devs have a lot on their plate, but those things have been requested since the beginning, and would make play SO much easier.

Yes, auto-upgrade will drive me nuts sometime in the near future since I'm also one of those who regularly forget to disable it when aquiring a new planet.

Auto-upgrade is also a constant irritant for me. Please put a master toggle in for this.
