Somehow the Drengin found me even though I was outside their travelling distance. And no, my ship didn't go through a wormhole.
How can this be and why do they decide to declare war on me even though their warships can't reach me - isn't that poor AI?
Totally agree, seems like the wars are still way too random. I feel the new diplomatic features help but the fact that another faction thinks me weak or doesn't like my moral views is hardly a reason for war.
Maybe they have an exploration treaty with someone that already knows you.
Also I guess the warmongers among the races are supposed to be giant dicks who declare war on everything that is weaker. It doesn't matter how far away they are. You could argue it doesn't make sense, but you could also argue it keeps you on the watch because now you have to watch out not to go unguared near them with your scouts and stuff.
Personally I don't mind the behaviour.
