Game keeps reverting to low graphics!

I reinstalled galciv 3 and I set my resolution to 1400x900. But everytime I set the performance to enable lean maps, gel ui, antialiasing etc, and disable low rez textures, I restart the game and boom, it reverts back to low resolution settings. It wont save my settings no matter what I do!

Even changing the settings to ANYTHING other than the starting "low" settings doesn't save. I go into the menu, change it to high or custom, exit the graphics option menu at the main screen, go back into the graphics options and it's BACK to low. It's as if it isn't saving my settings.

Are you able to save a game?

Maybe for some reason your Windows-User does not have the right to write the GalCiv-Files.

I can save the game. I did not have this problem until today.

After reinstalling it and deleting it twice, it now works properly. Can't fathom why that happened.

I've got the same problem.

New high end PC running Windows 10 (with an NVidia 1070 graphics card) every time I set the graphics options and restart they revert back to "low".

What's the point of building a killer computer if the game won't utilize it?

Thanks!  That appears to have solved it.

Although with the high settings I don't really notice any difference in the look of the game.

Glad you got it fixed!

No there is not much difference in galactic graphics, it is mostly ships and effects that you will notice a change.
