Ok folks, after some serious experimenting, I have discovered the following...the map editor WILL allow you to place your custom factions on the proper world. It simply requires good management on your part. Let me explain. As you create your custom galaxy, keep records of the systems you create, and most importantly...the order you place them. Then make sure you check "random AI player" for each custom you are playing against. When you set up the game, make absolutely sure you place the custom races you are playing against in the exact same order. The game will slot the customs into the order you created them. I have run several tests. I ran it up to 6 custom worlds, named them for the Terrans, Drengin, Psilons, Iconians, Altarians and Arceans. Then I set the game, picking them as the first 6 opponents, with 20 more to follow. That was 26 races. When I started the game, they were all on the proper planet. Then, to be sure, I started over...this time I removed the Terrans and placed them at the bottom of the list. Lmao, everyone moved up one place in the "creation rotation. " The Drengin were now on Earth, the Psilon on Drengi, The Iconians on Mentar and so on until the Darloks moved onto Arcea. It's too much to be a coincidence. The editor allows you to use any planet and name them anything. Since I created the Arceans and used Arb for Arcea, I simply made a "minor" system and used Arb. Then I changed the name of the planet and star to Arcea. Slotted them sixth...and bingo, the Arcean live again. Experiment...let us know if I'm hallucinating or have stumbled upon exactly what most of us "control freaks" were clamoring for. Let me know all.
